An underrepresented group is best understood as a minority group (racial, ethnic, or cultural) whose presence in a subset of society is much lower than in society as a whole. WebAnother marginalized group in Canada is racialized people, who often face discrimination and racism in their daily lives. Racialized people, who make up approximately 25% of the population, are often underrepresented in leadership positions, and experience higher rates of unemployment, poverty, and police violence compared to their white counterparts.
